When speaking of wet, Boy on Boy are of course thinking of dripping orifices as a sign of sexual interest and/or emotional distress, but also of the wet sound signal smothered in fx as opposed to the dry, clean and clearly presented. Wetness cannot be fixed or rigidly structured - it crosses boundaries, mixes elements up, and basically makes a mess, which also can be said of Feel My Wet as a whole: It is a mess, though in no way a random mess, and never less than entirely sincere - Boy on Boy doesn't subscribe to irony.

And this wet mess that makes up their debut album can be seen as some sort of parallel universe of pop music, where banjo-driven folk can co-exist peacefully with house beats and PJ-Harvey-identifications ca. Is This Desire?, the occasional home made string arrangement safely drift out of tune and semiotics and gender roles be just as valid subjects as one night stands and oral sex. The building blocks being the misunderstood or -pronounced phrase, a free and primitive approach to question of genre, and the general confusion of the home recorded arrangements and mix.

Play loud, and remember to dance!
